Sarah Lewis is a bestselling author, curator, and an Assistant Professor at Harvard University. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Harvard, an M.Phil from Oxford University, and a Ph.D. from Yale University in the History of Art and has held curatorial positions at The Museum of Modern Art, New York and the Tate Modern, London.

Her articles on race, contemporary art, and culture have been published in academic journals as well as The New Yorker, the New York Times, Artforum, Art in America and for the Smithsonian.

Lewis is also the author of the Los Angeles Times bestseller, The Rise: Creativity, the Gift of Failure, and the Search for Mastery (2014) as well a frequent keynote speaker at many universities and conferences including TED, SXSW, PopTech and ASCD.
