The key that keeps leaders at the top of their game?
Stout asked three Austin standouts to share their favorite recharge strategies. Though their methods to refresh may be very different, they all share one thing– investing in time for yourself is the #stout key to staying on the road to success
“Golfing is a great way to recharge. Playing a couple of times a week provides exercise, interaction with others, time out doors, an takes your mind of work and other thoughts. Hitting balls on the range or practice putting does the same in a much shorter time frame. From my perspective this has been an effective and enjoyable way to recharge your batteries.”

“Yoga is definitely the way for me to relax and reflect. It is the only hour of the day that I don’t have a phone attached to my hand. Other things I do to destress are hiking and listening to audiobooks.”

“I have found my most effective means of relaxing and recharging involve the water. Sometimes, it’s water skiing on Lake Austin late afternoon or early evening…when the winds have calmed, the sun is setting, and the water turns glassy. Other times, I find relaxation in the challenge of sailing; focusing my attention and efforts on filling the sail and moving efficiently across Lake Travis. More frequently, though, I recharge on a paddle board or in a kayak. I find the rhythmic motion of the paddle soothing, and I often stop to dip my feet in the cold, refreshing water. I find playing in and around the water reduces my stress, resets my mood and gives me great joy!”
