“Burnout is real. And it stems from a multitude of things and places. For most, it comes from the pace of work and this hectic nature of our industry, as well as the plague of emails. For me, breaking from the norm and doing something different helps to recharge. I can keep going at a fast pace if I’m doing something new or different, even if it’s extremely challenging. Each of these new experiences can provide new inspiration in very surprising ways. From traveling to new or familiar places, changing up the menu, experiencing anything new – good or bad, they’re all part of re-energizing. Re-energizing doesn’t necessarily mean slowing down, just changing the pace.”

“”Whether it’s exercising, having a picnic, or even zipping down a slide at your favorite playground, enjoying a city’s green space is one of the very best ways to rejuvenate and relax. We live in a society that is nonstop and it’s important to slow down and get outside once in a while. Parks are proven to positively impact both mental and physical health and so whether you live in Austin or anywhere else in the world, find a neighborhood park, get outside and go explore.”

“As a creative person, I’ve actually found that doing something creative, but apart from my job, helps me recharge. Whether it be writing in my journal, writing a song, or painting a watercolor, oftentimes the buzz I get from making something new helps me refuel. On days I’m not able to make time for these activities, I can feel my stress level rising and I know my antidote are those creative outlets. ”
