A Word On Fresh Starts From Stout Founder & Publisher Christi Hester
This last year has put us all through the wringer, but Stout is powered up to deliver your favorite weekly actionable insights and inspiration–PLUS we’re adding some new tools to fuel your purpose- driven leadership & life!
At the start of each year, I typically select a power word or mantra to provide inspiration and bring focus to my goals. Last January I chose “Practice the Pause” not knowing how utterly appropriate and foreshadowing it would prove to be for 2020. When Covid-19 first hit last year, team Stout put out a call for everyone to “Hold Fast & Stay True”, as we were, while navigating the unknown challenges ahead.
While we practiced our pause, we have enjoyed sharing Stout moments on our socials but we are happy to announce that we’re officially back on – so get ready for all-new actionable insights and inspirations from purpose-driven leaders, as well as new online learning opportunities coming your way weekly from Stout! (More about that below)
Though we still face many challenges this year, this week has brought moments of light – from a young poet laureate’s call to “not march back to what was but move to what shall be” to having a fresh (and ground-breaking) leadership team in the US challenge us “Are we going to step up? All of us? It’s time for boldness, for there is so much to do.”Change is never easy, but if we live with purpose, we can evolve and grow together. To accomplish that we must be bold, brave, and determined- these are the core principles of Stout and the driving force in all we produce.
And on that note, we are excited to introduce our latest production – the Stout Leadership Learning Series. This online leadership learning will be geared towards giving you the tools to develop and support your EQ muscles.
We hope you’ll join us for our first session, where expert coach Jennavieve “JJ” Joshua will be joining Stout to help you to “Get Complete” with what was and make space for what can be.
Sign up to join us online Jan 29 or 30 and start your year off strong with the tools you need to let go and move forward. (oh, did we mention this introduction course is 100% FREE- don’t miss it! )
One last thought as we look ahead…
I want to give a humble nod of gratitude to the many front liners and business owners carrying the heavy loads and wearing a brave face, plus a heartfelt #StoutSHOUT to US Youth Poet Laureate Amanda Gorman who offers us all a measure of hope for the future with her inspiring words. Here are a few more from this week:
For there is always light,
if only we’re brave enough to see it
If only we’re brave enough to be it
Be bold, be brave, be a light and stay Stout!
(Oh, and in case you’re wondering my 2021 power word? HEALING. I think everyone can be served by this one, and we’ll be talking about it more this year at Stout! Let the healing begin!)
