#stoutSHOUT To Jon Stewart For Standing Up For 9/11 First Responders
Raising A Voice For Responders
#stoutSHOUT to Jon Stewart for for being a strong and persistent raised voice for the brave public servants of Sept. 11th
Calling Out Congress To Act
“As I sit here today, I can’t help but think, what an incredible metaphor this room is for the entire process that getting health care and benefits for 9/11 first responders has come to. Behind me, a filled room of 9/11 first responders, and in front of me, a nearly empty Congress.” Stewart said during a House Judiciary Committee hearing on reauthorizing the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund. Many lawmakers on the panel did not show up for the hearing, leaving the committee room mostly empty.
Your indifference cost these men and women their most valuable commodity: time…the one thing they’re running out of!

The re-funding bill was passed in the Senate after the impassioned testimony of Stewart and a group of first responders including retired NYPD detective Luis Alvarez (pictured above).
Never Forgotten
As we remember those lost on this eighteenth anniversary of the devastating September 11 terrorist attacks in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania, perhaps we can honor them best by donating to support those still recovering and volunteering together to recapture a spirit of unity in a seemingly ever more divided world.
