Stout Magazine has a confession to make. We have a role model for growth, right in our own backyard.

It’s this little thing called South By Southwest (SXSW), and for the innovation, entrepreneurship and creative craftsman crowds, it’s one of the most hotly anticipated events of the year.

But this bustling behemoth actually had very humble beginnings, not unlike a certain purpose-driven publication that spotlights the bold, brave and determined among us. Founded in 1987 in Austin, Texas, SXSW is best known for its conference and festivals that celebrate the convergence of the interactive, film, and music industries.

That’s why we are particularly thrilled to announce to our readers that, in alignment with our March theme of Convergence, we will be covering SXSW from the inside, boots-on-the-ground perspective.

Whether it’s the latest business advances, the newest entrepreneurial wunderkind, or real people who have stepped up to make a difference, Stout Magazine will bring you the freshest insights and most exciting viewpoints that emerge from this mega-gathering of thought leaders and visionaries.

31 Years strong, the SXSW Schedule for 2018 has an amazing: 10 Days, 4 Industries, 24 Tracks, participants in the hundred thousands. (2018 festival schedule courtesy of SXSW)

So stay tuned, both this month and in features throughout the rest of the year, for the #Stoutest of takes on the Bold, Brave and Determined who converge in Austin, Texas, on March 9-18 for SXSW.

We’ll also be bringing you live inspiration on Twitter; follow @StoutMagazine, and look for #STOUTxSW!

As always, we hope you take inspiration from the success journeys of others that we’ll be sharing with you, and use it to fuel your own journey to live a purpose-driven life.
