My mother, Ematille, has always been my most important and greatest mentor. When she passed, many businesses shut down that day. Her impact on my small town had a profound effect on me. I live my life trying to carry on her legacy in my own way.

My mom taught us everything we know about cooking. She inspired us to work hard, hustle and not to take short cuts; to be hands on and to reach for more. Now, we combine our love of food, family and business everyday.

My mom was the strong person who really provided a lot of influence – at least for me – and gave me my moral compass and direction on how life was. She was a teacher at the time, so she was teaching at work, but she was also teaching at home, too.

I love my mom. Anyone who knows me knows how much this woman means to me. She’s incredible. Inspiring. Forgiving . Thoughtful. Creative. Genuine. “Leap and the net will appear,” was her advice to me when I started my company. Her love and support means everything to me.
